Semi Hits Police Officer At Scene Of Fatal Lakewood I-5 Crash
The crash along I-5 killed three people. The officer was hit while tending to the scene early Thursday morning.

LAKEWOOD, WA - A DuPont police officer was hit by a semi-trailer early Thursday morning while at the scene of a fatal crash along I-5. That crash left three people dead and closed all southbound lanes of I-5 for several hours, creating a traffic mess.
According to DuPont city officials, DuPont officer Jordan Goss was in his Ford Explorer near the scene of the crash around 3 a.m. when the semi plowed into him. The police car was wrecked, but Goss only suffered minor injuries.The semi driver, Roger Clift, 57, of Pixley, Calif., was not injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but state police reported that Goss had his emergency lights turned on.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and released Thursday morning, according to DuPont officials.
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. near Bridgeport Way. Police arrested a man for DUI and other charges in relation to the crash.

At approximately 2:30 am there was a fatal accident on I-5 South bound south of Exit 125. The DuPont Police Department responded. Around 2:50 am, while the DuPont Police Officer was in his vehicle, he was struck by a semi-truck. The vehicle was demolished.
