Shooting Locks Down Parkland Neighborhood
Pierce County deputies are searching for an armed suspect after a shooting in the Parkland area Thursday afternoon.
PARKLAND, WA — The search for an armed shooting suspect locked down a Parkland neighborhood Thursday afternoon, according to the sheriff's department.
Deputies responded to a shots fired call near the intersection of 114th Street and Pacific Avenue South shortly after 4 p.m. Investigators said the suspect shot one person and ran from the scene on foot. Deputies placed the nearby neighborhood on lockdown during a K9 search, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
According to authorities, the shooting victim left the scene in a vehicle and went to a nearby business on 112th Street. Deputies said the man was found and treated by medics. Further information on the victim's injuries was not immediately released.

Witness reported that the suspect fled on foot heading northbound on B St. from 114th St. Suspect described as light skinned black male wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt & jeans.
