Snow Possible This Weekend In Northern Puget Sound

The National Weather Service is predicting "a taste of winter" on Saturday with, yes, a chance of snow.

LAKEWOOD, WA - If you want a preview of winter, head north on Saturday. The National Weather Service is predicting "light" snow in parts of Whatcom, Skagit, and San Juan counties.

But don't break out the snow chains or anything. The snow will be so light it likely won't accumulate at all. On top of the chance for snow, Saturday will be windy with gusts up to 30 MPH expected north of Everett.

This weekend, the Seattle and Tacoma areas will see a lot of rain and chilly temperatures. Here's the weekend forecast near you, according to the National Weather Service:

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Saturday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
