Stuff Yourself: Lakewood 'World Donut Eating Contest' Saturday
Lakewood's Original House of Donuts is as hosting its second donut-eating contest Saturday.
LAKEWOOD, WA - Lakewood's Original House of Donuts will host a donut-eating contest on Saturday. It's too late to enter, but you're welcome to watch as locals - unwisely - try to eat many donuts as they can. Saturday's event is the second "World Donut Eating Contest" that the retro donut-maker has held.
The contest will challenge eaters to house as many donuts as they can in five minutes. The contest kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday at the shop at 9638 Gravelly Lake Drive Southwest. There are also Original House of Donuts locations in Tacoma and Puyallup.
The Lakewood shop opened in 1959 and has been making hand-made donuts ever since. You're welcome to enjoy as many or as few donuts as you want during the contest.
