ELK PLAIN, WA - Washington State Patrol reported that a Tacoma man died in a car v. pedestrian accident on northbound SR 7 at 221st Street East. Wannette Pierce, 57, of Puyallup, was driving on SR 7 when her car struck a Tacoma man at 11 p.m. Saturday night. The man was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Police initially released the man's identity then later rescinded it as his next-of-kin hadn't yet been notified.
Northbound SR 7 was closed for an hour following the accident. The collision is under investigation and no charges have been filed, according to police.
