Thanksgiving Baskets Distributed to Nearly Several Hundred families
Local volunteers at the Tillicum/Woodbrook Community Center participated in the 26th annual Thanksgiving Basket event.
Neighborhood volunteers and staff of the participated in the 26th annual Thanksgiving Basket event on Friday, handing out turkey, fresh vegetables, rice, oatmeal, peanut butter, tuna and more to needy families.
"We served over 748 families of these two (Tillicum and Woodbrook) communities," said Karen Priest, manager of the Center.
Each family, Priest said, received three meals over the next three days, totaling 6,882 meals and more than 8,000 pounds of food.
