Trooper's Patrol Car Struck In I-5 Collision

The trooper was investigating a crash when their vehicle was hit.

JBLM, WA - A state trooper in their patrol car was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night while investigating a crash. Trooper Brooke Bova said there were no injuries. The crash happened on southbound I-5 near Mounts Road.

Washington State Patrol reported that Dennis Goetz, 77, of Olympia, was traveling southbound on I-5 when his car crossed all lanes and struck the central barrier. The vehicle then crossed back all lanes and hit the trooper's Chevy Tahoe, which was statione

Both drivers were transported to Madigan Hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
