Truck Sinks In American Lake Boating Accident

LAKEWOOD, WA - It's an accident straight out of a State Farm Insurance commercial - call it the "inattentive boating enthusiast." Someone lowering a boat into American Lake on Sunday evening accidentally also lowered their truck into the water, according to Lakewood police. Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident.

After the truck sank, it was too dark for divers to retrieve the vehicle. They returned the next day to pull it out, according to Lakewood police.

"Just a reminder to be attentive and thorough when launching and retrieving. Take your time and make sure you follow all your steps for safety," Lakewood police wrote in a Facebook post about the sinking.
