2 Men Dead In Shooting Outside St. Clare Hospital
According to police, the estranged husband of a hospital employee repeatedly shot her boyfriend, then himself.
LAKEWOOD, WA — Two men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide involving a woman's estranged husband and her new boyfriend, according to a police spokesperson.
Officers responded to the south parking lot of St. Clare Hospital, around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, finding two men on the ground near the main entrance.
According to police, a woman standing nearby was uninjured but traumatized. She told officers her estranged husband arrived to confront her and her boyfriend, who both work at the hospital. Police said the boyfriend was shot several times and taken to a trauma hospital where he later died. The estranged husband was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Lakewood Police Department forensics team continues to process the scene.
CHI Franciscan, which operates the hospital, sent a statement to Patch on Tuesday afternoon.

“Earlier this morning a shooting incident took place in the parking lot at St. Clare Hospital. We are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation and have learned that one of our employees was fatally shot, and the shooter is also deceased after taking his own life. We have confirmed all other staff and patients are safe and this was an isolated incident. The hospital was briefly on lockdown at the time and is now fully open.
