Water On Interstate 5 Slows Drivers From Lakewood To DuPont
Southbound evening commutes will be slow after a clogged drain left standing water on Interstate 5.

LAKEWOOD, WA — Water over Interstate 5 caused big delays for drivers between Lakewood and DuPont during Friday evening's commute. WSDOT said backups were already building by 1:30 p.m. Cameras showed standstill traffic in the area of Berkeley street, and delays stretched past Interstate 512 and on to 84th Street. A left lane was closed for three hours as WSDOT worked to unclog a drain. The lane reopened shortly after 4 p.m. but crews will have to return later to finish repairs.
Headed south on I-5? It's going to take a while. @wsdot crews have the left lane closed to respond to a clogged drain near Berkeley. They anticipate it could take some time to fix and see traffic moving again. Backups already to 84th Street. Please drive slow & use patience. https://t.co/GstivWdnBc
