Wedding Crasher: Suspect Stole Liquor From Spanaway Newlyweds

The suspect was caught mid-burglary by the bride. He told police he had permission to be on the property.

SPANAWAY, WA - A 23-year-old man was caught mid-burglary by a homeowner last Friday, according to police. But after Pierce County deputies got a search warrant for the suspect's car, they discovered he had stolen a box of booze leftover from the newlywed homeowners' wedding.

Around noon last Friday, a woman arrived at her 260th St East home to find a GEO Tracker parked in her driveway. When she got out of her car, a man came out of her house wearing gloves. He told her he was "looking for his cousin."

The woman ran to her car, drove away, and then called 911. Two Pierce County deputies were nearby and got to the home quickly. When they arrived, they found the suspect hiding in the garage. He eventually came out and was arrested on charges of residential burglary, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a stolen car.
