Emergency Food Network’s Mother Earth Farm is hosting our first ever Weed Dating, a chance to help out your community and connect with new friends… or more! The afternoon will start with a tour of the farm and after a brief demo we’ll divide and conquer those pesky weeds, rotating sections so that everyone has a chance to chat. We’ll end the day with a free happy hour and a big thanks to all.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: This is a free event. Remember, you’re helping us out, too.

Q: How will this work?
A: Show up at 3:30 in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and grab a nametag! After everyone gets settled we’ll be calling out when to rotate so you can focus on the task at hand – meeting and weeding! At the end of the day, stick around for socializing and let folks know you’re interested, either directly or through a note (yes, longhand still works!).
Q: Are there age restrictions?
A: The minimum age to participate is 21, and there is no upper limit. This makes for a potentially wide age range, and if enough folks sign up, we can split into respective age groups. But remember, keep an open mind – this is also a great opportunity to meet new friends!
Q: What is Mother Earth Farm?
A: Emergency Food Network’s Mother Earth Farm is an 8-acre organic farm located in the Puyallup Valley that distributes close to 100,000 pounds of fresh fruit, vegetables, and honey annually to Pierce County food banks.
