Whiz Kid: Meet Caitlyn Johnson
Clover Park graduate refuses to settle for anything but the best, and that determination is leading her toward a career in medicine.

4. Accomplishments: Caitlyn graduated with honors from Clover Park and also earned her Associate’s Degree as a Running Start student. She was in the top 15 of her graduating class.
She earned a Kiwanis Sportsmanship Award, U.S. Army Reserve Female Scholar-Athlete Award, and was the MPV of Clover Park’s soccer team.

This fall, Caitlyn will trade rainy Washington weather for the sunny skies of the Southwest as she heads to Arizona State University, where she will study biological sciences and eventually go on to medical school.
5. Keys to her success: Caitlyn credits her parents for helping her succeed in the classroom – and in life.
“They taught me to always try my best and never settle for less,” she said.
In fact, her parents being doctors – along with the influence of her freshman-year biology teacher – are what inspired her to go into genetics.
“My parents have inspired me to want to help people out like they do,” she said.
6. Best high-school memories: Caitlyn’s most memorable moments came during her time on the playing field, which is hardly a surprise since she touts her competitive drive as helping her to get things done.
“I created genuine bonds with my teammates in soccer and basketball,” she said.
