Whole Lotto-Trouble (Again)

Click on the “About Patch” in the footer and you get this:  

“We hope that our sites will strengthen communities and improve the lives of their residents . . . .  You can’t truly serve a community unless you provide the help it needs most . . . .”   

So in the interest of these objectives - to “strengthen communities;” “improve the lives of their residents;” and “provide the help it needs most” perhaps Patch staff would like to explain how promoting the lottery supports those objectives?   

Especially given the following provided on the Lakewood Patch’s competitor online newspaper, which link used to be live when originally published on the Patch but is no longer?
