Wire Thieves Force I-5 Ramp In Lakewood To Close
The Berkeley Avenue I-5 ramp was shut down for about 30 minutes Thursday, according to WSDOT.
LAKEWOOD, WA — A couple of thieves shut-down an I-5 on-ramp in Lakewood Thursday morning after they stole copper wiring out of a traffic signal, according to WSDOT.
The incident happened at the southbound I-5 ramp at Berkeley Avenue. WSDOT had to shut down the intersection for about 35 minutes to repair the damage.
Drivers were detoured to the Thorne Lane on-ramp during the repairs, WSDOT said.
