Police: Man shoots self outside Longview home after protection order filed (tri-cityherald.com) — Police say a Longview man with a new protection order barring him from a Columbia Valley Garden home was found in the property's shed Monday with self-inflicted gunshot wounds after a welfare check. He was airlifted to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, and Longview officers are still reviewing the case and whether additional criminal charges are appropriate.
3. Longview superintendent claims she was a 'scapegoat,' treated unfairly during high school sex assault investigation (kgw.com) — Longview residents should know that former Superintendent Karen Cloninger is suing the Longview School District and several leaders, claiming she was unfairly blamed and fired over the Mark Morris High sexual assault scandal. Her lawsuit alleges wrongful termination, withheld pay, and discrimination, while she still faces criminal charges and the district vows to fight her claims in court.
4. 2A GSHL Mark Morris/Hockinson/Washougal @ RA Long 2026 - Results (Raw) (milesplit.com) — Local runners from Cascade (Longview), Monticello, Mt. Solo, R.A. "Jesus loves 'em": Man with cross offers a simple message (tri-cityherald.com) — A Longview resident, Durrell Bell, has spent months walking local roads with a large wooden cross, culminating in a 70-mile trek from Longview to Olympia to share a simple religious message. He says the journey, supported by his wife and strangers' kindness, is meant to encourage people across Washington to reconnect with their faith and feel loved.
