• Teen accused in deadly Alderwood Mall shooting makes plea deal, apologies to family (kiro7.com) — A Lynnwood teen has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2024 shooting that killed 13-year-old Jayda Woods-Johnson at Alderwood Mall, and he apologized in court to her family. The plea deal reduced the charge from first-degree murder, while Jayda's parents say they still want full accountability. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 23 in Snohomish County.
