10th Anniversary of 9/11: Where Were You When the Twin Towers Fell?

Mercer Island Patch interviewed several visitors to Mercerdale Park Sept. 8 asking about the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

As the nation on Sunday remembers the decade since the 9/11 attacks occurred, Mercer Island Patch spent part of Thursday asking residents and community members a simple question: Where were you when you heard the news?

There is no doubt, of course, that the terrorist attacks marked a turning point in modern American history. At , Mercer Island Patch came across three residents and a woman from neighboring Bellevue who talked about their experiences.

Mercer Island Patch also would like to open up the conversation to everyone - just to see where people were, what they recall and what they did after watching TV news pictures, listening to the radio, checking websites or getting a phone call from a loved one.
