
End of year wrap-ups are popular this week, so here’s my take on the 2013 Mercer Island real estate market.
The chart is comprised of new listings in the monthly columns with the monthly sold line in comparison. Remembering that most sold homes have been under contract for 4 - 8 weeks before the actual sale explains why the sold numbers are sometimes greater than the new listing numbers.
Notice the increase in new listings moving toward spring. Good to know when considering how much competition you want when you sell.
