📰 News we're reading

• MI set to begin water pipeline replacement project (mi-reporter.com) — Mercer Island is about to start a major $22 million water pipeline replacement that will disrupt traffic on Gallagher Hill Road and nearby streets starting Oct. 12. Crews will replace an aging asbestos concrete line, install a new 24-inch main, and later repave roads and add sidewalks and ADA ramps, with water work expected to finish by April 2027 and minimal service interruptions for most homes.
