Today's riddle: How do billboards talk? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• MI set to begin water pipeline replacement project (mi-reporter.com) — Mercer Island is about to launch a major water pipeline replacement project starting Oct. 12, bringing lane closures, detours on Gallagher Hill and Southeast 40th, and one planned daytime water shutoff for eight homes. The $22 million effort will replace an aging main, add new sidewalks and ADA ramps, and eventually shift the Island to a more reliable, city-owned water line. Most residents should see traffic impacts but no loss of water service.
• Judge O'Donnell will discuss State Supreme Court at Rotary meeting (mi-reporter.com) — Mercer Island residents can hear Judge Sean O'Donnell explain the Washington State Supreme Court's history and major decisions at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island meeting on Oct. 20 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center. The program is free to attend, with optional $25 catered lunch or bring-your-own meal, and guests are welcome. It's a chance to better understand how top state court rulings affect everyday life.
