Pet Blessing Service Aug. 19 at the Congregational Church on Mercer Island

The honors and affirms the importance of all animals. The bond between man and animals, created by God, is like no other relationship. As an expression of the bond we have with all animals, we celebrate this bond with an Annual Blessings of Animals Event during our Sunday Service.

This year, the event will be on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

All are invited to bring their pets to this service to be blessed by our pastor, the Rev. Mark Travis. All animals of significance to you are welcome.

You can bring live pets, photos of pets, even stuffed "animals." A blind turtle received a blessing last year, among the many beloved cats and dogs. We have yet to see a snake or a fish.

A note about live pets, if you think your pet may cause harm to someone (or someone may cause harm to it), please either use a leash or a carrier.
