Covenant Shores’ Dining Director Receives Sodexo Award

At a recent meeting of 80 dining service providers in Sodexo’s western region, dining service directors at three Covenant Retirement Communities walked away with three of the 10 annual awards presented.

“The awards speak to the efforts of the CRC dining directors and their commitment to offering residents an outstanding dining experience,” says Covenant Retirement Communities National Dining Director and Sodexo Regional Manager Mike Miller.

In Washington state, Ian Kennedy, recently appointed dining director at Covenant Shores, Mercer Island, Wash., was recognized for his efforts in his former position. “We’re proud of Ian’s accomplishments and know that he will bring the same dedication to Covenant Shores,” says Miller. Kennedy’s award recognized his efforts to “enhance the external community experience” through meaningful participation in community service projects that promote Sodexo and/or the client facility/community.

Gariann Chiarella, dining director at Covenant Village of Cromwell, Cromwell, Conn., captured the award for “enhancing the resident experience.” According to Sodexo, the award recognizes the individual or team that best demonstrates the company’s philosophy that “patients/residents are the heart of everything we do” by providing personalized and caring service to all residents, family members, employees, visitors and caregivers.

In suburban Chicago, Debbie Arcos, dining director at Covenant Village of Northbrook, received the award for “enhancing the employee experience.” The award recognizes the individual or team that best demonstrates Sodexo’s values and results in a dramatic improvement in employee satisfaction/loyalty.
