IMS New Family Information

Islander Middle School will hold their Fee and Photo Day on Tuesday, August 21^st.  Scheduled times include 10:30am – 12:00pm for 6^th grade students and 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 7^th and 8^th grade students.   Middle school families new to the Mercer Island School District are invited to attend a gathering with the PTSA Gator Greeters 30 minutes prior to each scheduled time in room 403; 10am for 6^th graders and 12:30 for 7^th and 8^th graders.  This meeting allows volunteers extra time to acquaint new families with the school and to help them through the photo and fee process.

Parents and students new to the district are also invited to the New Family Orientation on Friday, August 24th from 10am – 11am in the IMS Library. Students and families will meet with student leaders and learn about the school, as well as, meet principals and members of the PTSA.

 School begins on August 29^th for all students. Sixth graders can arrive at school starting at 8:10am and will participate in a kick-off assembly for the new school year beginning at 8:25am in the MPR/cafeteria. School buses will be operating on their normal schedule for sixth grade students. Seventh and eighth graders can begin to arrive at 11:10am and should report directly to their first period classroom.  For all seventh and eighth grade students, buses will run three hours later than the regular pick up time. Lunch will be available for sixth grade students only that day.
