Local Man's Nonprofit Nominated

Actors have the Oscars, musicians have the Grammys, and humanitarians have the CLASSY Awards. Puget Sound's own Clint Borgen is about to make national headlines. His nonprofit organization, aptly titled, "The Borgen Project," is nominated for a CLASSY Award (http://www.stayclassy.org/stories/lobbyists-for-the-worlds-poor). This award show, taking place in San Diego on September 22, recognizes contributions of nonprofit organizations from all over the United States. From a pool of 2,400 nonprofit candidates, the judges have placed The Borgen Project in the Top 5 on the West Coast for the category, “Greatest Achievement by a Poverty and Hunger Relief Organization.” Clint's organization works to combat global poverty by focusing U.S. political attention and funding on programs that improve conditions for the world’s poor. A portion of the final decision is determined by public vote, and we would like to encourage our Mercer Island neighbors to vote! (http://www.stayclassy.org/stories/lobbyists-for-the-worlds-poor) Thanks so much!
