Armed Robbery At Island Books: Police
The suspect escaped, but police may have found his fingerprints at the crime scene.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - A man armed with a gun robbed Island Books on Friday night, according to Mercer Island police. The robber got away with a handful of cash, and police were unable to track him down immediately following the crime. However, detectives may have found the robber's fingerprints at the scene.
The robbery happened around 6:45 p.m. Friday. The robber walked into the store, showed the clerk a handgun tucked into his waistband, and then demanded all the cash in the register. The clerk complied and the robber ran from the scene.
Police set up a containment area and Bellevue police's K9 unit arrived to help. Commander Jeff Magnan said detectives have potential leads and are still investigating.
