A 'Net-Worthy' Low-Cost Tablet Computer
For those Patch readers who want to keep things simple — and inexpensive.
I've made my Barnes and Noble "NookColor" into a NetWorthy Low-Cost Tablet Computer using an Android N2A card at about half the price of an Apple iPad.
I found this $50 chip at Village Books in Fairhaven, Bellingham, WA. This great bookstore seems to have reached an accomodation in the matter of eBooks and paperBooks needing to co-exist in today's world- as I've written before in this, our own on-line Mercer Island Patch: http://mercerisland.patch.com/blog_posts/todays-world-of-ebooks-and-paper-is-here-to-stay
To see how well this pseudo iPad would take the place of my NetBook, I took it on our recent late-Winter trip to Guanajuato, central Mexico. It worked just fine. Airplanes, busses, plazas- nearly all had strong WiFi.

Back here (or anywhere) Barnes & Noble continues to update this remarkable device- by WiFi (no subscription is required).
