Celebrate Your Pacific Northwest Garden

Plant and maintain a lush garden on your property, in keeping with the local tradition of using that green thumb — you won't regret it.

All Pacific Northwest contemporary Homes should always have nice, visible gardens.

In fact, that's a hallmark of what's often called "Mid-Century Moderns" — or "MCM"s for short. They almost always have lots and lots of windows to better see said gardens- often these are built clear down close to the floor — as in our home.

Our own South-end home is a case in point. We're on a generous half acre site that was originally planted by a skilled gardener owner- followed by eight later ones with varying degrees of interest and/or gardening ability.

Preserving that garden as an essential component of a homestead is how I described it my recent JG Mercer Island Patch Blog Post- "".
