It's Not Easy Being Green
On picking another bold color in the quest to update and renovate our Mid-Century Modern-style home on Mercer Island.
Remember this color? Yolo Leaf 04? The one that was lovely in the entryway/living room but looked like something that came out of a baby’s hind end according to some? It’s also the one we put on the inside of the front door that highlights our Parvez Taj print of Jin. (Can’t wait for the new one!)
Well, I became inspired by the Room for Color 2011 color contest being hosted by Farrow and Ball on the Apartment Therapy site. I had considered entering but was a little intimidated. (However, considering my luck lately, maybe I should?) I shouldn’t have waited because I saw a lovely entry the other day using MY color! My Leaf 04! The nerve!
However, it did inspire me to get even bolder with the color and paint the family room. The wall space in there is limited because of the windows and fireplace and I thought it would work well with the views of the forest.

Brett started cutting in and rolling one day when I was out. And of course, at night, it looks totally different than it does in the daytime. It’s softer, less intense. In the day, it’s pretty darn intense. But in an endearing kind of way, actually, kind of like me. Right? Right?
So one day after work, I helped him finish rolling...
