These weekly "House Hunt(s)" on Mercer Island and other Patch(s) to which I often contribute are very interesting to me (and hopefully other Patch readers) because they give me an idea what's on the SeattleArea EastSide Real Estate market. I'm especially interested in Mid-Century Moderns of which there are quite a few on Mercer Island- (many by me).
However this one happens to be in Innis Arden for the Cottingham family. Our family had lived in our home next door (see the New Homes Guide, a "Shelter" magazine cover) pictured with our two young sons) before moving to Mercer Island and building our new three-story "Kid-Raising Barn".
We've now lived on Mercer Island for many years, our children are grown and gone. It is my hope that by sharing some of these site-specific homes that I've designed (as well as having overseen the construction), I'll be able to show/explain a lot of what's possible in creating custom homes by the owners working closely with their chosen architect.
