Car Hits Guard Rail Above I-90 On Mercer Island

MERCER ISLAND, WA - A car nearly drove off an overpass and onto I-90 during a crash Saturday night along 80th Avenue.

Police said the accident happened at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The car exited I-90 at the 80th Avenue HOV off-ramp. It failed to yield to a stop sign and continued across the road, across a planting strip, finally crashing into a guardrail.

Police said the car was driven by a 21-year-old male, and there were three young males in the car with him. They did not find evidence of alcohol use related to the crash. All the occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
