City Welcomes Little Acorn Day School to Community Center
Little Acorn Day School is now located at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center (MICEC).

The Mercer Island Community and Event Center (MICEC) is pleased to announce the opening of Little Acorn Day School in its new location.
The recently remodeled space in the community center’s North Annex is now home to four rooms of childcare and daycare services. The Little Acorn Day School joins Creative Learning Center and Little Acorn Sprouts, which have both been long time daycare tenants at the MICEC, and are also located in the North Annex Building.
In August of this year, the Mercer Island School District reclaimed its North Mercer campus, and subsequently displaced Little Acorn Day School, therefore creating an urgent need for daycare provider locations on Mercer Island. The City Council chose to address this community priority by remodeling space at the MICEC; it was completed just in time for the first day of school on September 4.

The City’s Parks and Recreation Business and Operations Superintendent, Jana Raasch, said, “We warmly welcome Little Acorn, and we look forward to getting acquainted with each of our new guests.” Little Acorn has been serving Mercer Island residents since 1986, and offers a play-based preschool program with a highly enriching, individualized curriculum.
