The remarkable discovery in 1994 of 32,000 year-old cave paintings in Southern France, which had been immaculately preserved by natural enclosures for the previous 20,000 years, was one of the greatest archeological and artistic finds in human history. However, within fifteen years of their unearthing, exposure began to threaten the paintings. Before resealing the cave, French authorities invited filmmaker Werner Herzog to make this documentary. Free, community invited, sponsored Mercer Island Arts Council and Aljoya. For information, call Judy Leithe 232-5413.
