Everybody should experience being upside down!
This workshop will teach you the basic building blocks to safely come into your own inversion. The students will be led through a short practice to warm and prepare the body to invert. In this practice, we will focus on breath and engaging uddiyana (core) as well as focusing on opening the shoulders, wrists and neck. Four of the basic inversions will then be demonstrated and taught, allowing for breaks and stretching to relieve the body as muscles get fatigued.
Peak poses will include:
Supported Headstand
Tripod Headstand
Forearm Balance
Handstand
Walls will be utilized as a tool to give you comfort and allow you to invert without fear. Individual instruction and support will be provided by the instructor and partners will be selected to assist each other into some of the more challenging inversions.
This workshop is specifically for students that are new to inversions but everyone is welcome. If you have ever had any interest in going upside-down, please come! You will leave with a deeper understanding of inversions and the tools you need to safely get into them in class.
