  • Why Go: Looking for new way to start of your weekend this Friday night? Try stopping by McCormick & Schmicks for some great food and even better Jazz. Deems Tsutakawa will be pumping out his jazzy tunes all night long. There's even late night happy hour specials to be taken advantage of! Check out the happy hour menu here.

Mercer Island Movie in the Park

  • Where/When: 7:45-11:30 p.m. Sat, Aug 13 at Mercerdale Park.
  • Why Go: Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and flashlights to Mercerdale Park this Saturday night for a showing of the family friendly film The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. Don't remember Jackie Chan being in The Karate Kid? You may want to check out the film's trailer to see what you're in for.Keep an eye on the weather though, the showing will be cancelled during inclement weather.
  • Cost: Free.

 

  • Where/When: 7-9 p.m. Sat, Aug 13 at .
  • Why Go: Local musician, Rusty Williams has been busy this summer playing at festivals and concerts all over the Pacific Northwest area. This Saturday you'll get your chance to catch him locally when he stops in at Olde Wine Store for a special performance. Come out and enjoy some wine while Rusty sets the mood with his smooth blues tunes.
  • Cost: No cover.

 


  • Where/When: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sun, Aug 14 at Mercer Island Farmers Market.
  • Why Go: Come hear some of Mercer Island's finest youth bands perform at the third annual Strictlyfest. The event will be held in conjunction with the Mercer Island Farmer's Market. There will be six hours of music, t-shirts for sale, raffles and more.
  • Cost: Admission is free. All of the proceeds will be donated to the MIHS band program.

 

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Sun, Aug 14 at in Redmond.
  • Why Go: Love yourself some Abba? Then you'll go crazy for Arrival From Sweden this Sunday at Marymoor Park. The production will feature all your favorites from Abba plus a few surprises. It's probably the closest you'll ever get to actually seeing Abba, right down to the original costumes worn by the performers. It's also taking place in one of the best venues around, Marymoor Park.
