I-90 SeaFair Closures Released: WSDOT

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Like a pod of orcas or a flock of Canadian geese, the Blue Angels are making their annual return the Seattle area for SeaFair this week. That means WSDOT will be shutting down I-90 for the main SeaFair events and practice sessions.

The weekend closures shouldn't be too bad, but there is one weekday closure on Thursday. The closures will affect the stretch of I-90 between Mt. Baker in Seattle and Island Crest Way on Mercer Island. Here's the full schedule from WSDOT:

• Thursday, Aug. 3: 9:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.; 1- 2:40 p.m. (practices)
• Friday, Aug. 4: 12:55 - 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show)
• Saturday, Aug. 5: 12:55 - 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show)
• Sunday, Aug. 6: 12:55 - 2:40 p.m. (Seafair Air Show)

Here's the list of I-90 ramps set to close:

• West Mercer Way to westbound I-90 (up to 60 minutes beforehand)
• East Mercer Way to westbound I-90 (up to 60 minutes beforehand)
• Eastbound I-90 to West Mercer Way (up to 30 minutes beforehand)
• 76th Avenue to westbound I-90 (up to 30 minutes beforehand)
• Island Crest Way to westbound I-90 (up to 30 minutes beforehand)
• Northbound I-5 to eastbound I-90
• Southbound I-5 to eastbound I-90
• Northbound Rainier Avenue South to eastbound I-90
• Southbound Rainier Avenue South to eastbound I-90
