I-90 travel survey from state arriving this week

November 12, 2013 – This week Mercer Island residents and businesses will receive an Interstate 90 mail-in travel survey from the Washington State Department of Transportation. The survey will be used in assessing tolling options for I-90 set by the state.

The week-long survey will track travel across I-90 from Sunday, November 17 through Saturday, November 23.

All survey responses are anonymous and must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 26. If you do not receive a survey by mail, contact miresearch@prrbiz.com and a survey will be mailed to you. Click here to see what the survey will look like.

Of the nearly 500 Mercer Island School District employees, 68 percent reside off of Mercer Island. The district has estimated that the financial burden to each of those off-island employees would be approximately $1,300 annually, assuming a $7.18 per rush-hour round trip rate with a Good-To-Go pass. The district estimates the aggregate financial impact of offsetting the cost of tolling on district employees to be approximately $500,000 per year.
