Islanders Lacrosse to Face Vancouver's Kings Way in State Quarterfinal

will face Vancouver's King’s Way in the state lacrosse quarterfinals after the Knights prevailed in a 12 – 8 opening round playoff win over Lake Washington, Tuesday at Columbia River High School in Vancouver.

The Knights will hit the road to, Friday, May 20 at .

King’s Way’s Jack Beall scored 3 goals and added 4 assists, while Connor Harwood netted 2 goals. Tyler Preston grabbed 17 ground balls and Max Zandstra had 11 saves in goal to lead the King’s Way defense.

The Knights finished the season in fourth place in the Southwest Conference with a 9-7-0 record finishing the regular season with wins over Vashon 20 – 4 and Tahoma 6 – 5. 

Lake Washington wrapped up their season losing three straight to finish 9-9-0.  Along with dropping their opening round playoff game, the Kangs fell in their final two regular season games, 19 – 5 to Mercer Island and 14 – 5 to Lake Washington.

In other boys Division I playoff action on Tuesday, Tacoma downed Eastlake 11 – 10, Eastside Catholic downed Tahoma 13 – 10 and Bellevue downed Lake Tapps 17 – 4 to all advance to the quarterfinal round. Mercer Island, Bainbridge, Curtis and Issaquah all earned first round byes. In the first of two girls Division I semifinals, defending state champion Lakeside downed Snohomish to advance to Saturday’s girls state championship.
