It's Like Last Spring, All Over Again

I held an open house in Seattle last weekend for another agent in my office. It was a very cute, very well-done remodeled Maple Leaf Craftsman. And it was a zoo. So many people in and out that I could barely keep track. Did I mention this was a day where there was also SNOW on the ground? Don't underestimate the drive of the hungry buyers in today's market!

The supply of homes for sale in Seattle and surrounding areas is still very low, and the demand is high. It reminds me a lot of last spring, when the Mercerdale rambler I listed (pictured above) received 14 offers in 10 days, finally selling for almost $100,000 over the asking price!

We may not be seeing quite the same level of enthusiasm yet this year, but things are still hot when homes are well-priced. Buyers, be ready to go when you fall in love. Make sure your financing is lined up WAY before you go out shopping for a home to buy. Have your home inspector picked and anticipating your call. You just never know when you'll need to get a pre-inspection done a day before the seller is reviewing offers.

I'm not going to re-hash last year's post, but take a look here if you're interested in learning more about how to make your offer rise to the top, or here for more info on pre-inspections.
