Mercer Island Mail Theft: Police Make 2 Arrests
Mercer Island police have arrested two people in connection with thefts from local mailboxes.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Police are saying that they arrested two people at a city park early Saturday morning in connection with the burglary of more than 25 mailboxes on Mercer Island.
Police found two people in the West I-90 Lid Park just after midnight on Saturday. After investigating, police discovered that they were in possession of stolen mail. Police were also planning to search a vehicle that the suspects were using for more mail.
The two suspects are a 35-year-old woman from Seattle and a 24-year-old man from Brier, which is near Mountlake Terrace. They arrested the pair on suspicion of mail theft and other felonies.

The mailbox thefts occurred along East Mercer Way and West Mercer Way recently. The recovered mail will be returned to the victims, police said.
