Mercer Island Offering Babysitter Training

The training helps young people learn how to be become better caretakers.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The parks and recreation department will offer a "super sitter" babysitter training class in February.

The sitter program trains young people how be safer and more responsible when they're taking care of children, or if they're just home alone. During the course, a hospital-qualified instructor will teach the students about everything from phone tips to proper infant care.

The class takes place on Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $49 for island residents.
