Mercer Island Police Need Input On Residential Burglary Campaign

Police are trying to gauge how well the "Lock-it or lose-it" program worked.

MERCER ISLAND, WA - Did you know that 65 percent of residential burglaries here occur during the day? How about that no one is home during 80 percent of burglaries on the island?

Police are hoping you know those and other facts about burglary after the department's most recent "lock-it or lose-it" campaign. Officers fanned out around the island recently hanging tags on doorknobs in an attempt to educate residents about how and why burglaries happen on Mercer Island.

Now, they're looking for feedback about how well that effort worked. The department has released an anonymous survey and is asking all island residents to fill it out. You can take the survey here.
