Mercer Island Schools Closed Friday, Jan. 20

All schools on Mercer Island, private and public, have announced they will be closed Friday, Jan. 20. This includes , which is tried to hold final exams this week but never opened due to the snow and ice.

Here's what NYHS posted on their website:

NYHS will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 20th due to weather.  Final exams will be held next week (Monday thru Thursday).  Weather permitting, we will be opening the building at school from 9am to 9:30am this Sunday, January 22nd for students to pick up study material.  Enjoy the snow.  Stay warm and safe.

For a third day in-a-row, the Mercer Island School District has canceled classes for Friday because of the weather.

All activities and building use are canceled, according to an update on the district's website.

announced they will be closed Friday, but other private schools on Mercer Island, including , , and have not yet updated the status of classes for Friday. 

Northwest Yeshiva issued a weather bulletin earlier in the day stating the school would re-open at 10 a.m. The school had scheduled final exams for their winter quarter and intended to resume finals on Friday. Mercer Island Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
