Mercer Island Soccer Club U11 Boys make it to the Crossfire Select Cup Tournament Finals

The Mercer Island Soccer Club’s Select Boys U11 team made it to the finals of the Gold Division at the Crossfire Select Cup Tournament July 26th-28th.   In their first year playing in the select division, the U11 boys outplayed each team they faced leading into the finals.   While they had more  scoring opportunities than their opponents, Cascade FC, they lost in a close match 1-0.  Playing in a select tournament gave this first time boys team an opportunity to compete with other teams at their level.  The boys had a great showing while having fun and earning a berth in the finals.   The Crossfire Select tournament brings out the best Select teams in the region gathering at the 60 acres soccer complex in Redmond.   The U11 boys look to return to the finals in their last tournament of the summer at the Sky River tournament later this month.
