MIFC Girls U13 Maroon Team Wins Sky River Tournament

The MIFC Maroon, coached by Tom Hill, won the Girls U-13 championship at the 2013 Sky River Soccer Tournament in Monroe on August 23-25.  On Friday and Saturday, the Maroon played three preliminary games with two wins and one tie to earn a spot in a Sunday final.  The Maroon faced Velocity FC Green in the championship match and after a dramatic, hard fought competition came out on top 1-0.  During the course of the tournament, the Maroon scored six goals and gave up only one.
