Parks Dept. Readies for Summer Day Camp With New Director
The Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department appointed community center staff member Chris del Pilar as Summer Day Camp Director for the 2012 season.

With the summer camp season right around the corner, the has appointed Chris del Pilar as the new Summer Day Camp Director, according to a city press release.
Del Pilar has worked for the city starting as the Fun Mobile Director in the summer of 2008, while attending Western Washington University as a Recreation Management major. His love of recreation and the outdoors made him the perfect leader in FUN for the Mercer Island Community. In 2009, Chris returned as the Intern for the Recreation team and by popular demand, came back for the 2010 summer to once again lead the Fun Mobile.
You may have seen Chris behind the desk, or running around the Community & Event Center where he has been working since February 2011. This summer he
will be back with the kids as the Summer Day Camp Director for the Parks & Recreation Day Camp.

"We are thrilled to have his enthusiasm & experience in our day camp, knowing that with the rest of the qualified staff, this summer will be memorable and fun for all campers," stated the press release.

- Camp Info: Experience a summer packed full of adventure, crafts, field trips, swimming, friends, educational activities and SO MUCH MORE! Each week there is a different theme and campers will go on a field trip. There will be swimming (weather permitting) and visits to parks and beaches. Every Monday a weekly itinerary will be available with a supply list of what to bring each day. Campers will need to bring a lunch and bottle of water every day.
