May 12: Chinese Language Story Time at the
- 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.
- For families with children ages three to seven.
- Join Nina Li Smith as she shares stories, songs and fingerplays in her native Mandarin language.
- Cost: Free
May 12: Draw, Paint and Write in a Nature Journal at the
- 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- For ages eight to 11, parents welcome
- Join artist Molly Hashimoto to learn how to draw, paint and write about nature.
- Cost: Free but pre-registration online is required and space is limited.
May 13: Drop in Gym at the Mercer Island Community and Events Center for Special Needs Kids and Teens

- 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Enjoy this program for special needs kids and teens ages five to 15. Meet up with friends and family to enjoy playing in facility with your child or teen. The facility is not staffed so supervision by a parent or caregiver is required at all times. Program is offered every other Sunday so next drop in gym will be May 27.
- Cost: $3.25 per resident, $4.50 for non-residents of Mercer Island.
May 14: Indoor Playground at the
- 9:30 a.m. to Noon
- Kids six and under accompanied by an adult caregiver will enjoy zipping around on scooters and playing with balls, giant blocks and other fun toys. A great place for you and your child to get out of the rain and run, play, socialize and have fun.

May 14: Teen Zone at the

- For teens
- Hang out, do homework, play board games or just chat. Teen Zone is a great place to complete group work for school or catch up with friends. Mondays after school with some exceptions.

May 16: Nature Garden Discoveries at the
- 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
- For children ages four to six with an older with an adult caretaker.
- Take a walk through the library’s Discovery Garden and listen, touch and smell some of the things growing there. Enjoy stories about nature and create your nature garden using natural materials and air dry clay.
- Cost: Free but pre-registration is required online and space is limited.
