Power Up Your Vinyasa Practice

Wanting to know more advanced poses or options that you have seen in class?

This series is intended for Vinyasa students who desire to add vigor to their current practice, as well as those who would like an Introduction to Power Vinyasa Yoga. Vinyasa yoga is a fluid practice that links poses into sequences and is synchronized with the breath. In comparison, Power Vinyasa Yoga increases the intensity and physical challenge of Vinyasa yoga .

In this series, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Power Vinyasa yoga and learn ways to “power up” your practice. We will learn the poses and sequences commonly experienced in a more powerful practice and play with a pace that adds a fresh challenge for you. (Sometimes the "power" in this practice is discovered to be your inner power and knowing when to rest.)

Some of the poses to be covered are: Upward Facing Dog, Chaturanga, Wheel, Camel, Dancer, Flip the Dog, Arm Binds, Bird of Paradise, and Crow.

This series includes pose demonstration, step-by-step instructions and time for practice and questions. We will heat the room to increase endurance, induce sweating and help the body open and release tension. This experience is intended to be fun, interactive and challenging. Bring your courage, questions, and an open mind!A basic understanding of sun salutations and some yoga experience required. Tuition: $75
