• School board OKs shuttering Hilltop (chinookobserver.com) — Ocean Park families will see sixth graders remain at Ocean Park Elementary one more year while the district consolidates grades 7–12 into Ilwaco's Black Lake Campus starting in fall 2027. Facing steep enrollment declines and budget deficits, Ocean Beach School District is closing Hilltop to regular classes, cutting staff, and banking on possible state funding for a future 6–12 campus.

• Local political giving topped $50K to start year (chinookobserver.com) — Ocean Park residents led Pacific County in federal political donations early this year, giving more than $21,000 and far outpacing other peninsula communities. Overall, county residents contributed about $52,000 in the first quarter, with most dollars going to Democratic candidates and committees, offering a snapshot of local political engagement heading into the next election cycle.
