3. Video: PIT maneuver ends Wash. sheriff's office pursuit of DUI suspect (police1.com) β Thurston County deputies used a PIT maneuver on I-5 in Olympia to stop a 42-year-old driver who allegedly fled an attempted traffic stop and showed signs of drug impairment. The man was arrested near Trosper Road on suspicion of DUI and several related offenses, then later transferred to Nisqually jail for an alleged Department of Corrections violation.

4. CSMoFA: Indigenous Takeover at TCMOFA Celebrates 'Temporal' (thejoltnews.com) β An Indigenous futurism exhibition called "Temporal: Stories of Indigenous Present, Re-imagining Indigenous Futures" opens Oct. 2 at the Thurston County Museum of Fine Arts on Olympia Avenue NE. Hosted by the Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts, the multi-media show features regional Indigenous artists working in performance, installation, digital media, and traditional forms like weaving and beadwork.

5. Amtrak's new Airo trains launch Sept. 30 on the Cascades route (idahostatesman.com) β New Amtrak Airo trains will start running Sept. 30 on the Cascades route that serves Olympia, promising more comfortable seats, better accessibility, and faster, more reliable trips. Four daily trips using the new trainsets will run between Eugene and Seattle, stopping in Olympia along the way. Riders can already book tickets and look for trains 503, 508, 516, and 519 to try the new equipment.
